Car Insurance Kia (Car Insurance). car insurance question please please help?car insurance question please please help? my car is in my moms name and im going to oklahoma to tag it but she has insurance on it that is in arkansas and the revenue office told me that it had to be oklahoma insurance but ive been told that it dosent matter so does it matter? and our insurance agency told us that they do insurance in oklahoma and the home office is in Tennessee anyways so shouldnt my insurance still be good for oklahoma? You have to have the car registered and tagged in the state where it is principally garaged. It needs to be Oklahoma insured. Now, if your agency has license for Oklahoma (even if the home office is Tennessee), it shouldn't be a problem. They can just switch it over. It might change your premium a bit, but not much. My grandpa's agency is located in Oklahoma, but they're licensed for Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. Try this site Auto parts : Grease Hose Acura 1995 . Grille Guard Alfa Romeo 1996 . Kia . How to Remove Rust From Paint ChipsIf a car's paint job gets chipped and the bare metal underneath isn't protected, rust can build up on the metal. If the rust is left untreated, it can spread and eventually eat through the metal, destroying the car's bodywork. It's relatively easy to remove rust from small paint chips. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Spray-on, petroleum-based lubricant Fine steel wool Rust remover (naval jelly or similar) Touch-up paint Mineral spirits Step by Step : 1 Clean the paint very thoroughly so that you can clearly see the rusted areas where the metal has chipped off. 2 Mask off areas near the rust that you don't want to damage by removing the rust. 3 Spray a petroleum-based lubricant on the rust and then use fine steel wool to sand away the rust, rinsing occasionally with water and a rag to see if the rust has been removed. 4 If the petroleum-based lubricant doesn't remove the rust, use a rust remover such as naval jelly. Apply the rust remover to the rust and let it soak in. Do not get any of the rust remover on nearby paint; it may damage the paint finish. 5 After the rust is removed, clean the bare metal with mineral spirits and use touch-up paint that matches the rest of the car's paint. This ensures the rust is prevented from reappearing on the metal.
Kia . Techniques for Repairing Scratches & Paint Chips on My CarThere are several different ways to repair the inevitable scratches and dings that happen to our cars and trucks. When paint is impacted or scratched, the surrounding paint, though it may look fine, is damaged. In the case of impacts, the sheet metal will also become distorted. The key to a pro repair at home is to remove all the damaged paint, level any low spots caused by impact and restore a stable paint structure. This prevents rust, lifting and flaking after the repair is complete. Preparing the Surface The foundation of any kind of automotive paint work, whether a full repaint or a repair, is preparing the surface to be painted. Begin your repair by washing the car. This removes any wax or grease that may be forced into the paint during sanding. The area around the chip or scratch should be sanded with 200 to 400 grit sandpaper until all damaged paint is removed. "Feather-edging" the paint like this creates a surface that is slightly lower than the level of the surrounding paint. Apply a good-quality primer and wet sand with 400 grit sandpaper between coats to build the surface back up almost even with the surrounding paint. Wipe the area clean with mineral spirits. Airbrushing The most effective way to apply touch-up paint to small areas is to use an airbrush. Instead of using the brush applicator, simply add the paint to the cup of your airbrush. It's better to apply the paint in two or three light coats, allowing 15 minutes between coats. The result will be a smooth application with minimal over-spray, which means it will require only light polishing to blend in with the rest of the car. Paint Gun For larger areas like bumpers that have multiple chips and scratches, you can use the same airbrush technique but with a larger touch-up gun. A touch-up gun is a small paint gun with a paint reservoir used for touch-ups and painting door jambs. It is small enough to maneuver around objects and does not waste paint. However, you must use automotive paint with this type of gun. Your local automotive paint supply will have 1-pint cans of paint to match your car's color. This type of paint will match the factory color better than the tubes of touch-up paint.
